Gmail and marketanything

Connecting Gmail is optional. Without it, every email goes from the reply address we set up for your business, and everything works the same.

What connecting Gmail does

  • Emails you approve one by one, by a tap on your dashboard or your yes in iMessage to that one email, go out from your own Gmail address, so businesses see your name.
  • First emails to businesses you haven't been in touch with go from your marketanything address, unless you choose otherwise on your dashboard's Gmail page.
  • Every email keeps its opt-out line and your business address, and the same daily limits apply.
  • Replies still come to the reply address we set up for you, so we can tell you about them.

What Google will ask

Google shows its own screen and asks you to let marketanything send email on your behalf. It also shares your email address, your Google account ID and, if Google includes it, your name, so we know which account is connected. We ask for nothing broader than sending.

What we never do

  • Read your inbox. The permission we ask for can only send.
  • Delete, change or label anything in your Gmail.
  • Use anything from your Google account for ads, or sell it. The only things we pass on are in section 8 of our privacy policy.
  • Use anything from your Google account to train AI models.

How to stop

Any of these disconnects Gmail. Your emails then go from your marketanything address again.

  • Tap Disconnect on the Gmail page of your dashboard.
  • Text us stop using my Gmail.
  • Remove marketanything under Third-party connections in your Google Account: myaccount.google.com/connections.

Deleting your Google data

When you disconnect, we hand the permission back to Google and erase the stored keys. If Google can't be reached at that moment, the connection is never used again and we keep trying until Google confirms. To delete everything else we hold about you, text delete my data or write to [email protected].

Google's rules

marketanything's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
